Thomas Hanncy was charged with committing a rape upon his, own daughter, Jane Hancy, aged fourteen. After a long investigation, the Jury retired for a few minutes, and then returned a verdict of not guilty, it being evident from the constant repetition of the act of incest, that the girl was a consenting party.
